After learning how to use point and shoot and then, further along in the class, more advanced digital professional cameras, students took on the challenge of experimenting with more specialized photo equipment. In this case, they used a macro lens which permits the camera to focus very close to the subject, creating images which feel almost microscopic. Students also tried their hand at using a very long focal length lens which captures far away objects in a unique form, compressing space and drastically altering how the camera focuses on its subject.
