festival de la anexión - Liceo de Sámara

The celebration of the annexation of Nicoya as part of Costa Rica in 1824 celebrates the expansion of Costa Rica to form its current geographic boundaries shortly after its independence from Spain in 1821. The celebration consists of traditional dances, music and food throughout the towns and cities of Guanacastet. Liceo de Sámara students traveled from Playa Sámara to Nosara to participate with several other schools in traditional performances. Photo students went along to capture the festivities in photography and video.
