Students explored the idea of creating a sense of depth within the frame of the camera by experimenting with placing foregrounds or objects in front of or around the main subjects of their compositions. By allowing the camera to focus on only one small part of the scene (depth of field in photography), the resulting images dramatically transform the way the world appears to the human eye.
